Gigs at The Carling Academy

The Glasgow Carling Academy, a very popular music venue holding 2,500 people, has hosted bands such as The Killers, Razorlight, Arctic Monkeys, Velvet Revolver, Maxïmo Park, and Babyshambles. 

The venue is one of a group of music venues in Britain branded 'Carling Academy', the best known including Brixton Academy and Birmingham Academy. 

Housed in a former cinema, The Carling Academy underwent a £3 million refurbishment project to create a magnificent venue. Much of the interior was carefully restored and retains the grandeur of the art deco period including original ceiling features, balcony and boxes, proscenium arch around the stage, panelling on the stairwell, as well as the original facade.

The venue opened on the 26th of March 2003 with the band Deacon Blue.
