Hen Nights Out Party

20 Jun 2007
It's nearing the big day and in between sorting through RSVP'S, Flower arrangements and trying on your wedding dress comes the all-important Hen Night. It's your send off into married life and the perfect opportunity for your friends to ridicule you and embarrass you in a bar full of strangers. Or shower you with attention depending on how nice you've been to them recently!

The first hurdle to overcome when planning your night is which city and where will you stay? While most places shy away from hen parties, the Euro Hostel in Glasgow welcomes them with open arms. Why not push the boat out and extend your night to an entire weekend? At beds starting from £12.95 it's just the place to let your hair down and enjoy yourself before your big day. Not forgetting that Glasgow is a great city for party animals, concerts and fun sports.

It's only fair that as the lady of the moment you aren't expected to walk around from bar to bar so why not travel around the city in style? Drop hints any opportunity you get while in the company of your best friends how you have just been dying to ride in a pink limo around Glasgow, singing at the top of your voice whilst hanging out the window wearing a silly hat.

Following your tour of the city make sure your limo driver drops you off at one of Glasgow's many bars, making sure to exit the limo with as much decorum as possible however, remember its your hen night so you are allowed to look a trifle intoxicated.

The number of nighttime attractions in Glasgow is endless. If you prefer chatting over a bottle of wine to prancing around on the dance floor you can rest assured that the city has the right venue to suit your taste and party style.

Alternatively you may want to go to a concert. Glasgow has a thriving music scene and the myriad of venues around the city host local bands to people like Elton John and Justin Timberlake. If you want the full big concert experience you may want to look at the gig listings for the SECC or the Carling Academy. If your tastes are more suited to an intimate setting then King Tut's Wah Wah Hut may be where you make your first stop of the night. After riding around in a pink limousine that is.

So you've dolled yourself up and you and your friends have consumed enough alcohol to kill a small horse. You've made the most of Glasgow's bars and clubs and you're ready to collapse in a heap on your bedroom floor.

As tempting as it may seem to spend the entirety of the next day nursing that hangover, may I suggest you resort to the traditional Scottish hangover cure- Irn-Bru and get outside once again? If some retail therapy is in order then hit the high street. Glasgow has street after street to satisfy even the most particular of tastes in fashion. Enjoy a cup of tea and lunch in one of the Rennie Mackintosh tearooms and immerse yourself in the history and culture of Glasgow by doing some sight seeing at Kelvingrove museum, the Gallery of Modern Art or maybe even the Lighthouse.

Glasgow's vibrancy is sure to add to the excitement and enjoyment of your hen night. There are, however, a few key rules to remember when planning your outing. Every bride deserves a hen party that reflects her personality and tastes but also ensures that everyone has fun. If you prefer a more laid back atmosphere you can still leave the confines of your own home and relax in the city atmosphere and possibly even visit a spa and enjoy a day of pampering and putting your feet up. While shopping and parties are all very well don't ignore outdoor activities. Go karting, skiing and rock climbing aren't just for a guys weekend away. Xscape in Braehead just outside Glasgow has everything from a cinema to a ski slope and sky park.

Whatever you plan, be it a night or a weekend of self-indulgence, remember to pick something that suits everyone's budget, book in advance and ensure all deposits are paid. Most important of all, make sure the lady at the centre of all the attention has the time of her life.
