About Us
Euro Hostels Ltd is a privately owned company started by a group of individuals with enormous experience in the hospitality industry. In 1999, after seeing the need for a whole new style of budget accommodation, they set about redefining the word "hostel".
It appeared to them that there was a vast gap in quality and service between the traditional "backpacker-style hostel" and the "budget hotel" chains. Essentially, they wanted to close this gap and bring together the best of both worlds.
There is an increasing number of discerning budget travellers that want the social interaction of shared common rooms, the money saving factor of being able to cook their own meals and a central location with the ability to walk to most city attractions. As well as this, they also want the choice to have their own room with their own bathroom facilities. Not too much to ask really. And, no, they're not interested in having a free TV or an expensive mini-bar.
Even though the traditional backpacker hostel industry has picked it's socks up somewhat, and the budget hotels have become "more" budget, there was still nobody catering to the vital mix of quality, clean and safe accommodation, together with guest interaction and good old fun, at an inexpensive price. It was always one or the other.
With a company policy that basically boils down to providing the best possible accommodation experience at the cheapest possible cost to the guest, we think we're on the right track. All Euro Hostel properties follow our company guidelines and provide the same high level of service with a smile, often a laugh. After all, if we're not having fun, chances are that you aren't either.
Euro Hostel operate hostels in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Newcastle is being developed in 2008 and we hope to open late summer this year. With suitable properties being sought in other cities currently, keep an eye on this website before booking with anybody else.
To make a booking at one of our hostels, please choose Glasgow or Edinburgh at the right and follow the prompts.
