University of Strathclyde Sports Union

In November of 2005, Euro Hostels Ltd entered into a 3 year agreement with the University of Strathclyde Sports Union to support all teams in their endeavours for championship victories. As the major sponsor of all team leisure wear, as well as supplying student discount accommodation, available to all visiting teams and providing financial support, Euro Hostels in Scotland have become an integral part of Strathclyde's dreams of sporting success.

Strathclyde has a proud history and have produced many sporting stars. Here is just a few;

• Janice Rankin (nee Watt)- Curling- Olympic Gold, Salt Lake City.
• Bobby McGregor- Swimming- Olympic Silver medallist, Tokyo.
• David Weir- Soccer- 37 Caps for Scotland.
• Alan Lawson- Rugby- 15 Caps for Scotland.
• Andrew Freshwater- Skiing- GB Olympic Team, Nagano.
• Stewart Bates- Rowing- World Championships Bronze, Munich.

Along with the deal, of course, comes 'Shuggie'. Shuggie is our Euro Hostel monster mascot and quite a character. You'll see Shuggie at all the big games (usually girls netball?!) supporting the Strathclyde teams.
