Glasgow Gig Guide

Gigs at King Tuts

King Tut's Wah Wah Hut is one of Glasgow's leading live music venues, largely hosting indie and rock acts and has a reputation for being the venue that supported some of the UK music industry's biggest names on the cusp of stardom as well as big names wishing to play an intimate gig.

In 1993 Oasis were spotted by the Creation Records boss when they played a 4-song gig supporting 18 Wheeler at King Tut's. He offered the band a contract on the spot!

King Tut's Wah Wah Hut lifted its name from a legendary bar in the East Village of New York City that existed from 1985-1990. King Tut's has throughout its twelve-year history played host to bands including Radiohead, Blur, Travis, Pulp and The Verve before they reached the heights of music superstardom.

It also hosted the first Scottish gigs for Beck, Crowded House and The Strokes.
