Q. What is a Hostel?
A. The short answer is a hotel. We choose to trade as a “hostel” purely due to you, the customer, having the choices that traditional hotels don’t offer. Rooms of all sizes as well as beds in shared dorms, early check-in, late check-out, self service kitchen and laundry and much more. The choice is yours, Budget stay – your way.
Q. Who stays at a Hostel?
A. We welcome everyone looking for low cost accommodation in a city centre location. It’s the ideal base to discover the City or attend events like concerts, sports matches or just shop. Groups of all sizes are welcome.
Q. What does my rate include?
A. All rates include bed with linen, Continental Breakfast, VAT, 24 hr reception assistance and access, FREE wi-fi in certain areas, FREE direct dial taxi telephone and TV Lounges. Osmosis bar is open all day and into the early hours with FREE Pool Table and Juke Box until 5pm Sunday to Thursday.
Q. What type of rooms do you have?
A. We have rooms for 1, 2, 3, 4 etc....all the way up to 14 people. Any size of party can be accommodated. All can be reserved for private use or a bed can be booked in the 4, 8 or 14 person dorms. All rooms and dormitories are en-suite. Rooms consist of bunk beds with the exception of our double rooms and Quad rooms which have a double bed and a bunk bed suitable for Mum, Dad and 2 kids.
There are also three adapted rooms suitable for guests in a wheelchair, the doors are widened, light switches/sockets lowered and the bathroom is fully adapted with a panic alarm. All public areas are also wheelchair friendly.
Q. Is linen provided in the rooms?
A. Linen is provided in all rooms. Towels are only provided in our single, twin and double rooms. Forgotten yours? Don’t worry they are available for sale at reception for a small charge.
Q. What time is check in and out?
A. Check-in time is from 3pm but for £3.00 per person you can check-in from 11.30am. Check-out time is before 11am but for £3.00 you can check-out up to 2.30pm, unfortunately you cannot take advantage of the late check-out facility in a shared dorm.
Q. Does the hostel have car parking?
A. Unfortunately due to our City centre location we don’t, however we have an agreement with Thistle Car Park where our guests receive 24hr parking for only £5, please have your car park ticket validated at reception on check-out.
Q. Is there a curfew?
A. No, our reception is manned 24hrs and access to guests during the night is controlled by security doors using your room key card for entry.
Q. Is there secure storage in the rooms?
A. Yes, all rooms have lockers but you do have to provide your own padlock. Don’t worry if you have forgotten yours, they are on sale at reception.
Q. Can I smoke in my room?
A. Absolutely Not! The hostel is completely smoke free, even in a private room. We will charge you £50 should this be ignored. We insist on preserving our smoke free environment.
Q. Do you take a deposit for reservations?
A. All reservations require a 10% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking for the total stay. For groups of 10 or more please refer to our separate Group Reservations Terms & Conditions.
Q. What age do I have to be to stay at the hostel?
A. Euro Hostel welcomes all ages; all we ask is that under 18’s are accompanied by an adult. Under 18’s cannot book a shared dorm even if accompanied by an adult.
Q. Are there cooking facilities at the hostel?
A. Yes, a guest kitchen fully stocked with crockery, cutlery and utensils is available daily from 7am – 10pm. Need to buy groceries? Don’t worry a supermarket is just a 2 minute walk from the hostel.
Q. Is there WI-FI or internet available in the hostel?
A. Internet is available from our kiosks at only £1 per 20 minutes; Skype is also available at the same rate. WI-FI is available in our Dining Room and Osmosis Bar.
Q. Is there a bar in the hostel? Can I take my kids in?
A. Osmosis Bar is located within the hostel, open daily from midday – sometimes earlier if a big match is being televised. Kids are welcome in the bar with a parent or guardian up to 8pm daily. We close Sunday to Thursday at Midnight and Friday/Saturday at 1am but residents can take advantage of our 24 hour license and the bar will remain open if there is demand. Once the bar closes drinks can be purchased at reception for residents only. Euro Hostels promotes responsible drinking.
