Shopping in Glasgow

The city-centre of Glasgow has reinvented itself as a shopping haven for people in search of designer outfits, high street brands and various markets. From House of Frasers, Borders and Debenhams on Buchanan Street, to Primark, TK Maxx and Waterstones on Sauchiehall street, not to mention the vast number of shopping centres; Glasgow will meet and exceed all your shopping needs. Here’s just a few of the shopping centres we’d recommend.

Buchanan Galleries

This is the newest shopping centre in Glasgow and is located at the junction of Sauchiehall street and Buchanan street. It’s easy to reach by bus and underground and is a short walk from the Euro Hostel. It houses no less than 80 different shops including John Lewis, H&M, Habitat, Mango and Next, to mention a few. Shopping just got easier.

Princes Square
This elegant shopping mall houses designer names and exclusives boutiques as well as a host of classy bars, cafe's and restaurants all under a glass roof. Clothes shops include French Connection, Calvin Klein, Oasis, Monsoon and Accessorize. Or, if you're trying to find that special piece for your home, it also has top of the range lifestyle shops such as BoConcept. There is also the Scottish Craft Centre which offers a wide range of works created by the nations best craftspeople.

St. Enoch Shopping Centre
The St. Enoch Centre prides itself on being 100% family friendly. Along with its array of various shops and boutiques it also has a food court and a play area for the children. Shops include Boots, BHS and Debenhams, as well as various shoe shops and Thorntons Chocolate store. St Enoch's also has an SECC ticket office.

Argyle Arcade
Built in 1827, The Argyle Arcade is one of Glasgow’s and Britain's oldest arcades and houses a total of 32 jewellers shops. Together they pride themselves on having the largest selection of diamond rings, diamond jewellery, wedding rings and watches in Scotland. The selection ranges from local jewellers to antique jewellers, and offers a variety of styles to choose from. Happy shopping.

Italian Centre
The Italian Centre located on St. John Street in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City area, hosts a selection of some of the finest Italian designer stores, including the UK's first Versace store, Emporio Armani and many other designer brands and boutiques. And when you’re exhausted from shopping, the Italian theme continues in the small cafe's bars and restaurants that are situated in and around the centre.

The Barras Market
If there is one place everyone should visit in Glasgow, be they sightseer or shopper, it has got to be The Barras Market. You are unlikely to find designer outfits or premium quality goods, but its array of both covered and open stalls sell everything from DVD's to old postcards and books. Brimming with character it’s always worth a visit and you never
know what bargains you may come across. This is old school Glasgow.
