'Great entertainment for free' at Edinburgh festivals

Those with their places at Edinburgh hostels already booked will be able to experience a host of free shows and events at this year's festivals.

According to the Guardian, the Free Fringe part of the annual collection of art and culture events continues to grow, with 558 shows offering free entertainment this year, including performances from John Hegley, DNA Poets and Robin Ince.

Writer Claudia Monteiro suggested that the Edinburgh International Book Festival will also prove to be a hit, with stories, music and literary shows curated by Canongate Publishers and McSweeneys.

"For late-night grandness get yourself a good viewing point of the castle and stare in awe at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo's firework display," she added.

The Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert 2010 will also provide quality entertainment for those in Edinburgh this summer, and punters were recently informed that tickets to the September 5th event are now available to buy.
