Edinburgh hostels at the end of Pedal for Scotland bike ride

Hostels in Edinburgh will be waiting at the finish line for anyone participating in the freshnlow Peddle for Scotland 2010 event.

Due to take place on September 12th, the Glasgow-to-Edinburgh race is popular among cycling enthusiasts who want to raise money for a good cause.

Last year, 7,000 bikers took part in the 51-mile race, which has become so popular that the organisers have now established a 100-mile alternative route for people who really want to test their cycling skills.

After a gruelling race, the first thing contestants will want to do is recuperate, something they can do at Edinburgh hostels without breaking the bank.

There will be prizes up for grabs and Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres will be hoping to raise plenty of money through the event, having received £230,000 through the 2009 Peddle for Scotland.

For those with youngsters, there is also a special 3-mile Family Ride that is also a great way for new cyclists to get involved.
