Edinburgh's Breakin' Convention in 2012

The international hip hop dance festival is returning to Scotland in 2012, with dancers, artists and fans alike heading to hostels in Edinburgh to take in the show.

Founded in 2004, Breakin' Convention is an annual celebration of breakdancing and hip hop dance theatre and brings some of the world's best B-Boys and B-Girls to perform.

Based at Sadler's Wells in London, the festival then tours around some of the UK's cities, stopping at Edinburgh's Festival Theatre on Nicholson Street along the way.

Fronted by the world-renowned Jonzi D, in 2012 Breakin' Convention 12 will host a string of dance theatre shows and workshops, freestyle sessions and live DJ and hip hop demonstrations too.

Much more is still to be confirmed for the festival, but celebrated graffiti artists and turntablists are sure to be putting on performances as the festival celebrates hip hop in all its art forms.

Breaking' Convention 12 is at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre on Friday May 18th and Saturday May 19th.

Tickets are priced at £16.50 for adults and £10 for concessions.
