Edinburgh braces itself for Rizzle Kicks
Following their rapid rise from obscurity to omnipresence, the 'Brithop' duo Rizzle Kicks are heading out on a UK tour which is set to give people staying in Edinburgh hostels the chance to catch them at the HMV Picturehouse.
Friends since forever, the Brighton-based twosome have been making music together for the last three years but were still something of an obscurity until their single Down With The Trumpets became one of 2011's summer anthems.
Despite only hitting number eight in the UK charts, the success of the hugely catchy song propelled them onwards and upwards, and their debut album Stereo Typical was released in October, making it to number nine in the album charts.
Amid the dark nihilism of much UK hip hop, Jordan and Harvey, AKA Rizzle and Sylvester, bring their own refreshing pop sensibility to the genre, taking it away from its serious side and infusing it with fun, catchy pop beats and a sprinkle of silliness.
Support for the show comes in the shape of Pepper and Random Impulse.
Rizzle Kicks perform at the Edinburgh HMV Picturehouse on Friday February 24th. Tickets cost £13 including booking fee and the doors open at 7pm.
