Newcastle United host Blackburn in the FA Cup

Having already knocked Newcastle out of the League Cup at Ewood Park this season, Blackburn will be hoping they can make it twice in a row when they head to the north-east for a showdown in the FA Cup.

Fans heading to the newly renamed Sports Direct Arena may like to book a hostel in Newcastle for after the game.

Blackburn are currently enduring one of their worst runs in the Premier League and with huge pressure on manager Steve Kean, some predict he may not be in charge by the time this fixture comes around.

However, a good cup run can sometimes be enough to galvanise a team and Kean will be hoping his side can dispatch Newcastle United from a second competition this season.

Newcastle meanwhile have seen their glorious start to the season implode with a run of six games without a victory and while they still sit high up in the table, are beginning to feel nervous.

Both sides will be looking to kick-off their FA Cup in style with a third round victory and this has all the makings of a classic tie.

Newcastle versus Blackburn in the FA Cup third round is on Saturday January 7th. Kick-off is at 3pm and tickets cost £20 for adults and £5 for juniors.
