Simon Amstell is Numb at The Queen's Hall
The award-winning comedian, actor, writer and presenter Simon Amstell is heading to The Queen's Hall in May, giving people staying in hostels in Edinburgh the chance to see him perform his new stand-up show Numb.
Amstell shot to fame presenting Channel 4's Popworld before moving on to Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
On the BBC music panel show, Amstell extended the reputation for his searingly sharp wit as he picked at the bones of many an unfortunate guest in much the same way a vulture would a carcass.
His stand-up routines, however, are much more deprecating and his vulnerable and honest depictions of himself have audiences clutching their sides in laughter while wiping tears of sadness from their eyes.
A solid proponent of 'soul comedy', Amstel in many ways uses stand-up as a form of therapy and returns this year with another great show following the success of Do Nothing in 2009.
Simon Amstell: Numb is at The Queen's Hall in Edinburgh on May 17th. Tickets cost £23 including booking fee and doors open at 8pm.
