Grammy win sees Skrillex Glasgow O2 date rescheduled

Originally due to play at the O2 Academy in February, people staying in hostels in Glasgow will get a chance to see Skrillex in April after his Grammy success forced a date change.

The electronic music artist had a major breakthrough year in 2011 which ultimately saw him nominated for five Grammys.

Picking up three of the awards for Best Dance/Electronica Album, Best Dance Recording and Best Remix, the 24-year-old Californian producer is now rated as one of the top electronic musicians in the world and rightly so.

His immense soundscapes have taken the increasingly tired dubstep genre in a new direction and his past as a post-hardcore singer-songwriter is clear to see.

Last year MTV crowned him with its Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year award ahead of major artists such as Deadmau5.

The Skrillex Cell – Grey Daze Tour comes to the Glasgow O2 Academy on Thursday April 19th. Doors open at 7pm.
