Thin Lizzy rock the Edinburgh HMV Picturehouse

The boys are back in town! Thin Lizzy are making a remarkable comeback more than 40 years after the band first formed, and a gig at the HMV Picturehouse is sure to have fans heading to hostels in Edinburgh.

Tickets are still available for the gig in May, with Black Spiders and The Treatment supporting.

Without doubt one of the most successful rock bands of all time, the Dublin-based band are responsible for some of the biggest hits of a generation, with songs like The Boys Are Back In Town and Jailbreak imbedded in popular consciousness.

Having come to a premature end back in 1984 when the band played their final gig, a lot has changed since then and a new line-up has come together for the new millennium.

The tragic death of singer and bassist Phil Lynott aged just 36 in 1986 left a big hole in the band, but original members Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton have some stellar musicians joining them.

Guitarist Gary Moore is also missing from the original line-up, sadly dying of a heart attack in 2011. However, Damon Johnson of Alice Cooper on guitar, Whitesnake's Marco Mendoza on bass and Ricky Warwick on guitar and vocals have all joined the Thin Lizzy line-up, ahead of what promises to be an epic comeback.

Thin Lizzy & Guests play at the Edinburgh HMV Picturehouse on Saturday May 19th. Tickets cost £26 plus booking fee and doors open at 6pm.
