Galway is the main city in the province of Connacht on the west coast of Ireland.  With a population of around 72,000 it is the 3rd largest city in Ireland.  The city is known for its sport and contains a number of local rugby, hurling and gaelic football teams.  Galway is also a harbour town accommodating up to 9 vessels at any one time.  There are a number of festivals and events that take place each year including the Galway Early Music festival.
