Q. What is a ‘Hostel’?

A. The short answer is a hotel… but with more choices. Self-service laundry and a self-catering kitchen are all standard at Euro Hostel Newcastle. Early check-in and late check-out are all available as is car parking (right outside), tour sales and all the necessities you might need during your stay.

Q. Who stays at a hostel?

A. Everyone looking for low-cost, city-centre accommodation. 18-80 year olds from all walks of life are flocking to hostel accommodation all over the world.

Q. What sort of rooms do you have?

A. We’re a little different at Euro Hostel Newcastle. We have rooms for 1 to 10 people and you can book beds (shared rooms) or rooms (private).

Q. Will I be sharing a bathroom?

A. Not in our private en-suite rooms but yes you will in dorms. All our accommodation in shared dorms have shared en-suite facilities. There's no walking down the hall to find the bathroom though.

Q. Does Euro Hostel supply bed linen?

A. We sure do. In fact, you are NOT permitted to use your own linen or sleeping bags. We also supply towels in private rooms .

Q. Is breakfast supplied?

A. Yes. All room and bed prices include a superb continental breakfast served in The Ware Rooms.

Q. What time is check in and out?

A. Check-in is available from 3pm or anytime after and check-out is on or before 11am. Early check-in is available from midday (£3.00 per person) and late check-out is available to 2.00pm (£3.00 per person). Reception is open 24 hours.

Q. Is there Wi-Fi or Internet available?

A. Yes a wireless Internet connection is available throughout the hostel with your own laptop or Wi-Fi device. It is free of charge in The Ware Rooms and there is a small fee elsewhere.

Q. Is there car parking?

A. Yes… loads of it right outside. It’s not included in the room cost but is still great value. Off street parking is available nearby.

Q. I’m arriving late, will reception be open?

A. Of course… we’re open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q. Is there a curfew?

No. You have your own key to your room, so no need to rush home.

Q. Can I smoke in my room?

A. Absolutely Not! The hostel is completely smoke free, even in a private room. We will charge you £50 should this be ignored. We insist on preserving our smoke free environment.

Q. Are the rooms noisy?

A. Nope. We have double glazing throughout and excellent noise insulation in place.

Q. Do I have to pay anything when I book?

A. Yes. At the time of booking you will be charged a 10% non-refundable deposit. If you are booking for a group (10 or more people) you will notice a special section within the Terms and Conditions that you will be asked to agree to. Super discount rates (Special Offers) have a 100% non-refundable deposit applied.

Q. If I cancel my booking, do I lose my deposit?

A. Sure do. To maintain our low rates, we have to recover costs on any lost administrative time and possible loss of income due to rooms not being sold when they were once booked out. Think of the budget airlines and what happens if you cancel with them!

Q. What age do I have to be to stay at the hostel?

A. We welcome all ages but any under 18’s must be accompanied by 1 adult per 5 youths.
