As a starting point, here’s a little Newcastle Upon Tyne tourist information for just a few of the sites that our previous guests have enjoyed.
History of Newcastle Upon Tyne:
The city's history has been carefully preserved over the years, and rightly so. One of the most famous ancient Roman remains anywhere, Hadrian's Wall, crosses right through it and the stunning Northumbria countryside. The Discovery Museum provides visitors with an insight into the region's colourful past and celebrates its importance throughout the ages. Amongst its many other attractions is The Turbinia; the first steam boat, The Beamish; a unique open air museum exploring the living and working experiences of life in 19th and 20th century northern England. Set in over 300 acres of countryside there’s plenty to see and do, including taking a stroll down Mosley Street, the first street to be light by gas (1811) and later electricity (1891).
