Edinburgh Zoo welcomes new additions
Animal lovers staying in hostels in Edinburgh may want to consider a trip to the zoo, as the city has recently welcomed three new additions to its wildlife centre.
Two male Sun bears were welcomed earlier this month after flying 6,000 miles from Cambodia.
The brothers were rescued in 2004 by Free the Bears Fund because the owner had been keeping the pair in a tiny cage. They have now taken up residency in their new Scottish home.
Along with the Sun bears, visitors to Edinburgh Zoo will have the chance to see its latest addition, a baby black howler monkey, which went on show on July 19th.
He is the first infant of his kind in the zoo since its previous breeding female Molly died while giving birth to son Diego.
Lorna Hughes, head keeper for primates at the zoo, said: "After the sadness attached to Diego's birth we are thrilled that this time around this youngster will have its mum to rear him and we'll have less sleepless nights."
Edinburgh Zoo was first opened to the public in 1913.
