Compete in croquet tournament in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hostels could provide the ideal place for croquet competitors to enjoy a little downtime.

The Edinburgh Open, the largest annual croquet tournament in Scotland, runs until August 21st and offers people of varying abilities the opportunity to play against other lovers of the sport.

Designed to bolster interest in the sport in Scotland, the competition will boast some of the country's best players.

Competitors from all over the UK are expected to attend, meaning Edinburgh hostels could be of use to a number of players.

Events Edinburgh states: "The tournament enables Scottish players of all levels to compete against opposition from outside the Scottish croquet community, essential if the sport is to grow in Scotland and the standard of play improve."

The Edinburgh Open takes place on the Fettes College playing fields and features six separate competitions on five lawns over the course of the week.
