People staying in hostels in Newcastle who want to find a souvenir to remember the city by should visit a popular crafts market.

The Armstrong Bridge Arts and Crafts Market is held every Sunday between 10am and 4pm and offers tourists the ideal opportunity to buy something that will forever remind them of their time in Newcastle.

NewcastleGateshead.com states: "The Armstrong Bridge arts and crafts market is … the perfect place to spend a Sunday morning; browse and buy a unique souvenir of your visit."

What is more, visitors to the stalls can enjoy a piece of modern history as well, with the market having run for more than 40 years.

Originally opened in 1963 when the bridge in Jesmond Dene was closed to traffic, the market has run ever since.

Among the items on offer, visitors will find leather goods, contemporary art, mirrors, jewellery and prints.
