Great Scottish Run all set for starting gun
Runners pounding the streets in this weekend's (September 4th and 5th) Great Scottish Run may want to consider resting in the city overnight and searching for hostels in Glasgow.
Organisers have already announced that a record number of more than 21,750 participants have signed up to race in this Saturday and Sunday's events, beating last year's total of 20,868.
The 1.5km and 3km junior races will take place on the Saturday with the half-marathon and 10km senior runs being held on the Sunday.
The deputy leader of Glasgow City Council Cllr Archie Graham told Glasgow Life that small altercations to the routes will keep people enjoying the event.
"We had already made a number of small but significant changes to the race routes, which will ensure that runners continue to enjoy the event," he said.
"The race is rightly regarded as one of the highlights in the running calendar and we are all looking forward to another hugely successful weekend."
Glasgow hostels could also be ideal for those watching their loved ones participate, enabling them to spend more time looking at the city's other attractions.
