Only fools would miss a night with Boycie and Marlene

Two of British television's most-loved sitcom characters are starring in a show that may interest those staying in Newcastle hostels next month.

An Evening in the Company of Boycie and Marlene will appear at Newcastle's Journal Tyne Theatre on October 12th, as a part of its tour of Britain.

The pair, played by John Challis and Sue Holderness, will reminisce about their time on Only Fools and Horses and answer questions from the audience.

Originally aired between 1981 and 1991, the sitcom has since spawned various Christmas specials and spin-offs. The Green Green Grass, which focused on the lives of Boycie and Marlene, had four series and three special episodes.

In 2008, Ms Holderness told The Sun that wherever she goes, people do Boycie impressions to her.

"I've even been in a cafe in India - called Del Boy's! - and had people come up to me and say, 'Hello Marlene…cushty!'" she told the newspaper.

Tickets for the evening are £16.50.
