Skunk Anansie to perform hits new and old at Glasgow next month

Reformed English rock band Skunk Anansie will be touring the UK to celebrate the release of their new album and Glasgow hostels could provide overnight accommodation for those wanting to see them perform.

The group hit fame in the mid-to-late 1990s through a series of top 20 hits, but disbanded in 2001 so that members Skin, Cass, Ace and Mark Richardson could pursue solo careers.

However, with their new album Wonderlustre now in music stores, Skunk Anansie have returned to the live scene and will be playing at the O2 Academy in Glasgow on November 15th, along with a series of other dates across the UK.

Rob Sleigh, writing a review of Wonderlustre for stereoboard.com, said that the band have adapted their music to the modern day in their latest record.

"What the four-piece have managed to achieve is to skilfully adapt their sound to suit the current time as their style has matured," he wrote.

"As experienced musicians, no one could really have expected them to make another 'Paranoid and Sunburnt' (their first album) after fifteen years."

For those who would like to see the band perform their new hits, tickets for the Glasgow performance are £20.
