Glasgow International Comedy Festival to feature array of top comedians
One of the UK's biggest comedy festivals will be coming to Scotland early next year and those looking to see the nation's top comedians could stay in Glasgow hostels before heading along.
The Glasgow International Comedy Festival will return for its tenth year with stand-up gigs taking place across the city between March 17th and April 10th 2011.
Featuring in the line-up are Russell Kane, Stephen K Amos, Tim Vine, Milton Jones and Mock The Week panellist Ed Byrne.
The festival began in 2002 after forming out of the city's popular Stand Comedy Club and has now escalated into an annual three-week celebration of comedy, with over 50 venues featuring 350 different shows.
Reviewing one of Byrne's performances at the festival in January last year, Chris Schulz of The Dominion Post said that people watching the Irish star get good value for their money.
"Thanks to his fast-paced banter, quick-fire wit and speedy Irish accent, Byrne crams more jokes into his 90-minute set than most comedians would hope to do in twice that time," he wrote.
Tickets for Byrne's performance are priced at £20 and other shows vary.
