Musical Version of The War of the Worlds lands in Glasgow this December
Glasgow hostels could be ideal for those who would like to see the musical version of The War of the Worlds performed in the city when it heads on a UK tour later this year.
The show is based on Jeff Wayne's music, inspired in turn by H G Wells' 1898 science fiction novel The War of the Worlds, which explores conflict between humans and aliens.
It will be heading to Glasgow on December 3rd after a number of successful tours in the past, including across the UK and Australasia.
Wayne, whose 1978 album of the same name enjoyed critical acclaim across the world, will be conducting the show once again with the help of former Atomic Kitten singer Liz McClarnon and Jason Donovan.
An 11-foot 3D photo floating hologram of Richard Burton, who narrated the album, will be a part of the show along with a three-tonne, 35-foot Martian fighting machine that fires heat rays at the audience.
A review of the show written in 2007 on list.co.uk said that it "retains a contemporary relevance that belies its origins in 1898".
Tickets for the show are priced at £20.
