Damien Hirst print collection to be displayed at Bowes from next month

The Bowes Museum will be displaying a collection of Damien Hirst prints next month and Newcastle hostels could be ideal for those wanting to view the artist's work.

Damien Hirst: Print Maker will be on display in the 19th century building, situated in County Durham, from November 6th to February 27th next year.

Curator Greville Worthington has compiled more than 50 works for what will be the museum's first collection since a £12 million refurbishment project was completed.

Several of the pieces on display have never been seen by the general public before as many northern collectors have loaned prints especially for the event.

Mr Worthington told thebowesmuseum.org.uk that Bowes is the ideal location from which to showcase Hirst's work.

"I can think of no better way to articulate this than to stage an exhibition by one of the world’s best known contemporary artists in such an interesting and developing museum as The Bowes," he said.

Admission for adults will be £8 and concessions £6.
