Diversity street dance their way to Newcastle this December

Fans of dance group Diversity could stay in Newcastle hostels next month and see the act perform in the city as part of their UK tour.

The ensemble, which famously beat Susan Boyle to the 2009 Britain's Got Talent crown, will be dancing on the stage of the Metro Radio Arena on 13th December to a collection of songs, including hits by Michael Jackson and the Black Eyed Peas.

Led by choreographer Ashley Banjo, the group consists of friends from Leytonstone, Basildon and Dagenham and had success in the Street Dance Weekend competition in 2007.

Additionally, Diversity has also been nominated for the 2010 Variety Club Showbiz Awards for the inspirational young talent prize.

After their Britain's Got Talent performance, Simon Cowell described the group's display as "incredible" while fellow judge Amanda Holden had nothing but praise.

"That was utter perfection. Tonight's was the best performance you've ever done," she said.

Tickets to see the Newcastle show this December start at £21.50.
