West End musical star John Barrowman to perform in Newcastle this November

Fans of West End star John Barrowman could stay in Newcastle hostels next month and watch him perform in the north-east.

The star, famous for his role in the musical Anything Goes and performances in several BBC television shows, will be singing hits from his self-titled album across the country, with the penultimate performance taking place in Newcastle (November 1st).

Barrowman, who has appeared in Dr Who, its spinoff series Torchwood and films including Shark Attack 3: Megalodon, recently entertained crowds at Salford's Proms in the Park.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News after the show, the entertainer said he had had "a wonderful time" and said how important it was to have different forms of music at events.

"I think it's a really great opportunity for people to come and hear a variety of different types of music - from the classical Proms music to my kind of entertainment," he told the news provider.

"It's what the BBC do so well bringing different types of music all across the country."

Tickets for the Newcastle show are priced at £39.50.
