Paul Weller set to jam in Glasgow this December

Singer-songwriter Paul Weller will be heading to Scotland this December to perform in a gig that may interest those staying in Glasgow hostels.

The 52-year-old, known equally for his time in his late-70s band The Jam as he is a solo artist, will be playing at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on December 4th, continuing a world tour that will take him around Australia over the next month before returning to the UK.

His latest album, Wake Up the Nation, reached number two in the charts after its release in April this year, and was nominated for the 2010 Mercury Music Prize.

Since becoming a solo artist in 1992, Weller has had an incredible amount of success with three number ones in the UK and five number twos out of the ten albums he has released.

Former Pulp guitarist Richard Hawley recently revealed that he and Weller locked themselves in the toilets at the Royal Albert Hall with their guitars after a gig to write "basic ideas for songs".

Tickets for the Glasgow gig are priced at £35.
