Glasgow to celebrate November 5th with a bang this year

Fireworks night is nearly upon us and those looking to celebrate it with a bang could stay in Glasgow hostels and head to the city's annual event.

In addition to crackles and crashes in the sky, live music and a funfair will also be staged to give those attending an entertaining evening.

Drumchapel Park hosts the display for the fifth time through funding from Glasgow City Council and the Drumchapel Environmental Trust and this year's event has an X-Factor theme.

Rikki Loney, a star in the 2008 series, will be singing to the crowd between 5.55pm and 6.20pm after local 13-year-old singer Maria Marciano has performed.

Additionally, a Michael Jackson Tribute Show act will be playing some of the late-singer's greatest hits in the build-up to the main event.

The X-Factor fireworks display will begin at 7pm, giving people a spectacular view of the show.

To round the night off, those attending could have a go on the dodgems before retreating to a hostel room for the night.

Admission for the event on November 5th is free.
