Lenny Henry brings music and laughter to Edinburgh stage in April
One of Britain's best-known television personalities, Lenny Henry, will be bringing his new stand-up show to Scotland next year and those looking for a night of laughter and music could stay in Edinburgh hostels before heading along.
The Brummie comedian will be touring the UK from January on a 67-date schedule that includes the Festival Theatre in the Scottish capital on April 24th.
Cradle To Rave will see Henry focus on his love for music through impersonations and songs as he takes the audience on a journey through the role music plays in his life.
Henry's versatility as a performer was shown during his last performance as the lead-role in the award-winning stage production of Othello early last year, one that surprised critics across the country.
Charles Spencer, reviewing the comedian's performance in the Daily Telegraph, said that though he was "expecting to review a theatrical car crash" he actually saw the opposite.
He told the news provider: "It is impossible to praise too highly Henry's courage in taking on so demanding and exposed a role, and then performing it with such authority and feeling."
Tickets for his Edinburgh show cost £25.
