The Pogues set to bring their fairytale to Glasgow

Glasgow hostels could provide the perfect place for fans of The Pogues to relax after seeing the popular Irish folk band perform in the city next month.

The Pogues will play at the O2 Academy in the city centre on December 13th as part of a Christmas tour around the UK.

The band is perhaps best-known for performing the Christmas song Fairytale of New York, which featured vocals by the late Kirsty MacColl.

In addition to that classic track, visitors to the show will also be able to hear other favourites such as Irish Rover, Fiesta and Tuesday Morning.

Although famous frontman Shane MacGowan left the band in 1991 and was replaced with Joe Strummer and then with Spider Stacy, he rejoined the group ten years later and fans will be hearing his unique voice at next month's gig.

Music magazine Q also voted The Pogues as one of the '50 bands to see before you die' shortly after they reunited in 2001.

Tickets for the gig are priced at £30 excluding booking fee.
