Electric Six to give high voltage performance in Newcastle next month

Newcastle hostels could be a port of call for those looking to see American band Electric Six as they head to the north-east early next month.

The Detroit-based group will be performing at the O2 Academy in the city on December 10th, bringing their mix of rock, punk, disco and metal music to the stage in what is sure to be an energetic show.

Their seventh album, Zodiac, was released in February this year but it was their first album, Fire, that caught the attention of the world as it featured the hits Danger! High Voltage and Gay Bar.

Fire peaked at number seven in the UK album charts, with singles released from the record also reaching the top ten.

In a review on the BBC's music website, Nick Reynolds said that the new record showed that the band were "serious".

He added: "They have more edge than most po-faced rock poseurs and they're delivering this edge straight to the charts. I don't know what it is, but I like it."

Tickets for the show are priced at £10.
