Celtic Connections festival set to welcome Sir Tom Jones in January

Sir Tom Jones has announced that he will appear at the Celtic Connections festival in Scotland next year and fans of the singer could stay in Glasgow hostels after seeing him perform.

The 70-year-old, famous for hits such as Delilah, It's Not Unusual and Green, Green Grass of Home, is set to sing songs from his new album at the Royal Concert Hall on January 17th.

Praise and Blame will be the singer's 39th studio album and his first since 24 Hours, which hit the shelves in 2008.

Donald Shaw, the artistic director of Celtic Connections, told the BBC that everyone is "honoured" to be welcoming the singer to the show.

"This January, the festival pays tribute to the influence of the great gospel tradition, and Tom Jones' performance of his stunning gospel, roots and blues album, Praise and Blame, forms part of this strand," he told the news provider.

Tickets for his performance are priced at £35.
