Reel Big Fish to visit Newcastle on UK tour next year

Popular American ska punk band Reel Big Fish will be bringing their unique sound of music to the north-east early next year and those looking to see the group perform could stay in Newcastle hostels.

The six-piece will be heading to the O2 Academy in the city on February 19th as part of their UK tour and will perform their mix of hits and cover-songs to the crowd.

Known for their remakes of songs such as Take on Me by a-ha and Boys Don't Cry by The Cure, the group have added a distinctive sound to classic songs from other artists.

In addition, their energetic live displays have also helped them develop a loyal following of fans across the world.

Stephen Bradley, who reviewed a recent gig in the US for the Washington Times, said that Reel Big Fish are targeting their market well.

"One of the things that make them such a special band and why they've been able to stick around for so long is that they are keenly aware of who they are," he said.

Tickets for the show in Newcastle are £15.95.
