The Streets set to hit the road on UK tour to perform in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hostels could provide ideal accommodation for fans of Mike Skinner, also known as The Streets, who will be performing in the city next year.

The singer's mix of UK garage and hip-hop has seen him sell millions of records and appeal to a wide demographic of music consumers and critics.

Edinburgh Picture House will be hosting the gig on February 18th, performing songs such as Dry Your Eyes, which reached number one in the UK in 2004.

Smith's tour will coincide with the launch of his fifth album Computers and Blues, which will hit the shelves a fortnight earlier, and while discussing the record on his Myspace blog in 2008, he suggested it could be his last.

"The final Streets album (the fifth one) will be dark and futuristic. This could not be further from the album you're about to hear, but it's what is on my mind at the moment," he wrote.

"I feel inspired by the synthesizer exhibition we just visited in Graz [Austria] after the gig we just did."

Tickets to see Smith perform his new works are priced at £20.25.
