Maroon 5 to stop off in Glasgow on 2011 UK tour

Nearly nine years after becoming famous across the world, American rock band Maroon 5 are heading to Scotland and those who enjoy their music could stay in Glasgow hostels.

Singer Adam Levine and the rest of the group will be heading to the O2 Academy in the city on February 22nd and the gig will form part of a UK tour celebrating the release of their latest album Hands All Over.

Their first record, Songs About Jane, which shot them into the limelight, is thought to have sold nearly two million copies in the UK alone and two singles reached the top five in Britain.

Levine's singing appears to have impressed Glee's executive producer Ryan Murphy who told Digital Spy that Maroon 5's single, Misery, could be the focal point of an episode next year.

He told the news provider: "I love that song, I love Adam's performance on that song - so we're doing that in an upcoming spring episode."

Tickets for the show are priced at £25.85.
