Ocean Colour Scene set to bring back Britpop in Glasgow gig

Nineties Britpop band Ocean Colour Scene will be rolling back the years in Scotland on their upcoming UK tour and those looking to join them could look at booking into Glasgow hostels.

Barrowland will be hosting the event on February 25th as the Brummie five-piece perform hits from their five top ten albums and other songs that set the music scene alight a decade ago.

Their third album, Marchin' Already, reached number one in the charts at the height of their Britpop fame, featuring songs such as Hundred Mile High City.

The group released their most recent record earlier this year, named Saturday, with many of the songs only available to download.

Reviewing the album for themusicfix.co.uk, Olivia Shaff said that the group had "returned to form" with a string of bold songs.

"This album is a representation of all that is great about British rock: terrace anthems, heartfelt ballads and weird, left-of-middle songs, Saturday serves it all up, with a cherry on top. This is the album Oasis can't make anymore," she said.

Tickets for their Glasgow gig are priced at £26.75.
