Micky Flanagan to take East End charm to Glasgow on 2011 tour

Floppy-haired East London comic Micky Flanagan will be performing new material in Scotland next year and those who have enjoyed him on television can stay in Glasgow hostels and see him live.

The stand-up is heading to the King's Theatre in Glasgow on March 22nd for the penultimate date of his three-month UK tour, bringing the humour that made him stand out on various television shows.

Having starred in Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow last year, Flanagan's stock has risen immeasurably and after several appearances on Mock the Week and the Radio 4 show Out to Lunch, he now finds himself on a bigger stage.

Alistair Smith, reviewing his performance at this year's Royal Variety Performance for The Stage, said that Flanagan was the stand-out stand-up at the show.

He said: "The comic high point though, came from a less obvious source - east Londoner Micky Flanagan, whose slow-build, low-key delivery and wonderfully surreal take on every day situations (like watching Thomas the Tank Engine with your children) was the event's surprise package."

Tickets for his show in Glasgow are priced at £20.25.
