Newcastle gallery to hold exhibition of lights and sculpture

Art fans planning to stay in Newcastle hostels may like to attend an exhibition of lights and sculpture.

Upcoming artists Rory Biddulph and Charles Thorburn have created Imitation Arsonist, an exhibition about the use of light through sculpture.

The exhibition will run from January 14th until February 4th at The NewBridge Project.

A preview evening is also being held on January 13th between 6pm and 9pm.

According to creativeboom.co.uk, the installations are made primarily from contemporary construction materials, lights and pigment.

Mr Biddulph told the news provider: "My work is primarily concerned with the exploration and development of architecture and our interaction with urban environments."

"Recently, I have been using contemporary construction and building methods as a means of re-thinking about the city as a place for routine, consumption and work."

Mr Biddulph, 25, is one of the artists from the 2010 New Sensations Prize, run by the Saatchi Gallery and Channel 4 to find and support the most imaginative and talented artists graduating in the UK.
