Newcastle to showcase football memorabilia
Fans of Newcastle United may like to stay in budget hostels in Newcastle as a new exhibition is to showcase the team's memorabilia.
NUFC: For the Love of Football is set to open at the Discovery Museum on January 29th and will run until June 26th.
One of the highlights of the free exhibition is Hughie Gallagher's 1926/27 Championship shirt.
According to The Journal, other highlights include a pair of boots worn by Newcastle hero Kevin Keegan in his final match as a player for United will be on display.
Mick, 45, told the news provider: "Some of the stuff is mind-blowing. There's FA Cup final medals, matchday programmes, season tickets from the 1920s, an old football rattle from the 1950s and an old Newcastle United ice cream tub.
"There are traditional collectibles like cigarette and bubble gum cards, to the stickers they make for kids today."
Newcastle United FC was established in 1892.
