Taste of Edinburgh to return to old venue

Hostels in Edinburgh may be the ideal option for foodies planning on attending the Taste of Edinburgh festival.

This year's annual event is to be held in its old location of the Meadows, after being relocated to Inverleith Park in 2010, reports The Scotsman.

Last year's festival made a heavy loss due to bad weather and a number of the city's leading restaurants snubbing the new location. It was revealed by the newspaper that restaurant owners were reluctant to return this summer.

However, city council chiefs decided not to axe the festival, which has been running since 2007, and instead decided to move it back to its original location.

The council is expected to formally announce that Taste of Edinburgh festival will be going ahead this year in the coming weeks.

Edinburgh is one of three UK cities that hosts a Taste festival, with events also being held in London and Birmingham.
