Mike and the Mechanics 'hit the road' to Edinburgh

Hostels in Edinburgh could prove popular with Mike and the Mechanic fans as they are set to play in the city in May.

The band is to take their Hit the Road Tour to Edinburgh on May 24th when they will perform in Edinburgh Playhouse.

Mike and the Mechanics was originally formed by Mike Rutherford in 1984 as a side project to Genesis. The forthcoming tour follows a six-year hiatus.

Rutherford has now joined with R&B act Andrew Roachford and Tim Hower, a Canadian born singer and actor, for a new generation of Mike and the Mechanics.

Some of the hits that fans may enjoy at the Edinburgh gig include Silent Running, The Living Years and Over My Shoulder, which reached number 12 in the UK singles charts.

Tickets for their Edinburgh date cost between £35 and £40 excluding administrative fee.

Mr Rutherford was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
