Glasgow to host AC/DC exhibition

Hostels in Glasgow could be an option for AC/DC fans looking to attend a new exhibition in the city about the band.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery is due to host the exhibition later this year and will run into 2012.

It includes around 450 items linked to the group, including a leather jacket once owned by Bon Scott and handwritten lyrics to Highway to Hell.

Other items due to be on show are concert programmes, tickets, fan letters and costumes.

The exhibition is heading to Glasgow as several band members had ties to Scotland.

Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young were born in Glasgow before their family emigrated Down Under. Similarly, Bon Scott was born in Scotland and moved to Australia when he was young.

AC/DC are best known for their hits Back in Black, High Voltage and Whole Lotta Rosie.

They formed in 1973 and went on to sell over 200 million albums worldwide.
