Gered Mankowitz exhibition set for Edinburgh

People staying in Edinburgh hostels may like to check out a new Gered Mankowitz exhibition that is due to open in the city in March.

According to STV, his iconic images will be on show in The Dome from March 9th until the 11th, admission to which is free.

Mankowitz was the personal photographer of the Rolling Stones in the 60s and during his 40-year career, he has taken pictures of rock icons such as Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney.

Jonathan Poole, who organised the exhibition, told the news provider: "It will be very exciting to have Mankowitz's work in Edinburgh and I am delighted to be showcasing these insightful images as personally I am a huge fan of his works."

The exhibition will showcase over 30 silk screen images, in black and white and colour.

Mankowitz is a British photographer born in 1946. Many of his images are not part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London.
