Edinburgh castle 'to be brought to life'
History fans may consider staying in Edinburgh hostels soon as the new boss of the city's castle is planning to bring the attraction to life.
Nick Finnigan, Edinburgh Castle's new executive manager, claims that a great many tourists come to the attraction but do not venture inside, reports Edinburgh Evening News.
He claims that people are unable to bring their imagination with them when visiting the attraction, so the castle needs to be brought to life for them.
Mr Finnigan told the news provider: "We want people to see the knight on horseback, watch them fall and hear the clash of swords.
"It's about engaging them and not about ramming the historical message down their throats. People in their pleasure time want to be entertained, not lectured at.
"The Castle has changed, it's not a time capsule."
As well as bringing history to life, Edinburgh Castle is to be the venue for an Arcade Fire concert, which is due to take place on September 1st.
