Dolly Parton world tour heading to Glasgow

Glasgow hostels could be ideal for Dolly Parton fans who want to see the country and western legend kick off the UK leg of her world tour.

The flamboyant star will take to the stage in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) on August 20th and 21st.

Ms Parton's Better Day World Tour coincides with the release of her 59th studio album, Better Day.

Fans of the Save the Last Dance for Me singer will hear classic hits such as Jolene and Nine to Five alongside material from the new album.

During her career, the 65-year-old has had 41 top-ten country albums and she is the only artist to have had a top-five country hit in each of the last five decades.

As well as having an impressive music career, Dolly is also recognised as an accomplished actress, having received two Golden Globe Award nominations for her debut performance in Nine to Five, as well as a third for the song of the same name, which featured on the soundtrack.

Contactmusic.com recently revealed that the singer's1973 hit I Will Always Love You was voted the most romantic country and western song of all time.
