Hunterian Museum to host John Cage exhibition

Hostels in Glasgow could prove ideal for people wishing to attend a new exhibition dedicated to John Cage.

John Cage: Every Day is a Good Day opened in the Hunterian Museum on February 19th and it will run until April 2nd. The exhibition is free to attend.

Cage was an American composer, philosopher, poet, music theorist, artist, printmaker and mushroom collector.

The exhibition showcases 50 works on paper that reveal the artist's entire visual career, including his Royanaji series.

A statement from the gallery said: "Echoing the artist's use of chance to create work, the exhibition will be selected and installed using a computerised version of the Chinese oracle, the 'I Ching'."

"Alongside the exhibition will be a lively programme of music and events exploring other aspects of Cage's work."

John Cage was born in Los Angeles in 1912. Critics often celebrate him as being one of the most influential American composers of the 20th century.
