Dick Whittington heading for Newcastle stage

Visitors staying in Newcastle hostels at the end of this year could see Dick Whittington performed on stage in the city.

Dick Whittington: The Christmas Pantomime will be performed at The Journal Tyne Theatre from December 9th and it will run until January 2nd.

The show could be an ideal way for people shopping in the city to get into the Christmas spirit.

A statement from the theatre said: "Join Dick Whittington and his cat as they journey to London to find their fortune in a brand new show full of colourful characters, live music, much mayhem, and the very evil Queen Rat.

"Award winning comedians Maxie & Mitch deliver the very best of traditional panto entertainment to the families of the North East this Christmas."

Tickets for the show cost between £10 and £22, but if those wishing to attend book before May 31st they can benefit from a £2 discount on every ticket booked.
